Message From Head Of Department Computer Studies

Information Communication Technology (ICT) encompasses the fields of Data/Information processing, transmission and communications by means of computer and telecommunication techniques. The ICT department aims to help students develop the necessary skills to exploit ICT, to become autonomous users of ICT and to be ICT professionals who meet the demands of both local and global markets. The department service ICT courses offered in other Departments within the institution. These include general Computing and Information Communication Technology for non-computing students as examinable units. The Department also runs Packages The courses offered in the department and examinable by The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC)which includes • Diploma in Information Communication Technology (DICT) Module based • Certificate in Information Communication Technology (CICT) Module based The Diploma Course is divided into 3 Modules. On successful completion of the 3 Modules, one receives a Diploma in Information Communication Technology. The Certificate Course is divided into 2 Modules. The students graduate with a Certificate in Information Communication Technology after successful completion of the 2 Modules. Those who successfully complete the Certificate Course, join the Diploma Level at second year. To be in harmony with the college vision the department has boosted its infrastructure to satisfactorily carter for its growing users. This has immensely improved access to ICT resources and further created an opportunity for creative and innovative use of ICT technology. The ICT department continues to be the heart of all the college activities.
